Fancy yourself as a bit of a card shark?

Then get yourself along to the clubhouse on Sunday 10 March for a fun but feisty game of Texas Hold 'Em poker. The cash pot for which is usually in the region of £150, shared between first and second place.

Starting at 2pm, the usual rules apply: £10 entry, 15 minute blinds, optional £10 buy-in within the first hour. For players new to the game, here's an overview of Betting and Dealing and Ranking of Hands.

Blue in the face or green with envy?

In the blue corner, Andy Goram. Rangers legend and Scottish internationlaist with 43 caps to his name whose goalkeeping heroics prompted the late, great Tommy Burns to quip: "If anyone gets round to doing my tombstone, it will have to read: Andy Goram Broke My Heart."

In the green corner, Frank McAvennie. A prolific goalscorer for both the Hoops and the Hammers whose aspirations to join the army where ironically cut short when he was "kicked out because I couldn't hit the target in shooting practice. Apparently, I was a bad marksman."

You gotta bowl with it!

Exactly one week before the opening of the green, we will be hosting an all-day music festival in aid of SAMH (the Scottish Association for Mental Health).

Comprising ten acts alternating between the lounge and the function suite, and with tickets priced at a modest £3 (free to LBC members), this family-friendly event is sure to sell out.
